How to Convert EXR to PSD

While Photoshop can open EXR files directly using its own HDR handling, some workflows specifically need a render brought into PSD format for further compositing, retouching, or matte painting work within a Photoshop-centric pipeline rather than a dedicated VFX compositor like Nuke. Converting EXR to PSD tone-maps the floating-point data and saves it as a single-layer PSD file ready for further editing.

This is mainly a workflow convenience, since it doesn't add editable layer structure beyond what the original EXR composite already had — it simply changes the format to one specific Photoshop-based workflows expect directly.
