How to Convert GIF to HEIC

GIF's 256-color restriction is a significant limitation compared to HEIC's support for 10-bit color depth and efficient HEVC-based compression. Converting a static GIF to HEIC can improve color representation if the original source had more detail than GIF could capture, while also producing a noticeably smaller file than GIF's older LZW compression typically achieves for the same image.
